Welcome

WELCOME! This is Kalanira’s official website, where our entire experience is mapped out from start to finish. Inspired by the timeless tale of Joko Kendil, we worked to transform our ideas into the results you see at our booth. Every step of the journey is documented here, so check it out!

Meet our Team

Abstract

Integrated Learning is a unified subject designed to apply what students have learned in a more practical and interactive way. For the 2025/2026 academic year, we, the 9th grade students at Saint Ursula Junior High School, were challenged to host a bazaar. It is more than just an academic requirement, but also an opportunity for us to step into real world experiences, simulating the complexities of entrepreneurship. The bazaar was held on the 3rd of February 2026, and served as the students' stepping stone to explore the world of business. Through this activity, various skills such as marketing strategy, creating environmentally friendly innovations, booth design, customer service and financial reporting were developed.

As the bazaar was folktale themed, the name of our team, Kalanira, was inspired by the legend of Joko Kendil. Rather than randomly selecting our items, we conducted thorough market research to understand students’ and customers’ preferences, ensuring our product lineup, ranging from crafts to food and beverages, would resonate with our target market. Handmade batik pouches to trendy items like stickers, crochet keychains, and many more, were served as a bridge between tradition and modern taste. To maximize our outreach, social media platforms like Instagram, Tiktok and Whatsapp were used as a promotional tool. Furthermore, we implemented two flexible purchasing methods: on the spot transactions at our booth and a digital pre-order system for added convenience.

The journey was not without its trials, which became a valuable learning experience for us, as we gained multiple insights on how to make effective yet efficient strategies, customer interaction, and financial management. However, it is known that a task this size inevitably came with significant challenges, especially since our team aimed for originality, so everything is handmade. One notable experiment is when we developed environmentally friendly products, which are the eco-crayons and eco-notebook (made from recycled papers). The eco-crayons faced some technical failure due to inaccurate measurements and excessive heat exposure, which caused the pigments to separate from the wax and fail to produce the desired color. Similarly, creating our eco-notebooks was a process of constant failures. Weeks were spent finding the perfect balance between durability and smoothness of the paper.

Despite all of that, it was shown by the execution of this bazaar that managing a business requires integrity and totality of each member, mainly to foster social interaction. Beyond the technical side of entrepreneurship, we experience a lively marketplace where there is direct engagement to build trust with customers. Purchasing decisions were influenced and our service to the community was strengthened by this interaction, which was crucial. By staying committed to our standards, we ensure that every product was handled with care. That taught us that being professional means being responsible for every little detail even when things do not go as planned.
On a deeper level, our perspective on what makes a project successful was shifted by this journey. The real test happened during the busiest hours of the bazaar, where we had to rely on the “Team Unity Spirit” to keep everything moving, even if it was rough. Looking back, the Integrated Learning project was a truly invaluable experience that allowed us to turn theories into real situations. Through Kalanira, not only we practice business, but also live the meaning of Serviam character values, especially in serving others. Our creativity and resilience were actually improved through this process. Ultimately, we discovered that success is always possible when we combine persistence of teamwork and willingness to learn from every mistake.
